Cost of Dental Implants

When we see patients who are missing teeth, we will, of course, talk to them about the best method of tooth replacement for their situation. The type of tooth replacement we recommend will take into account their health and their desires. In many cases, a dental implant will be their best option. Of course, patients then want to find out the cost of dental implants before they move forward.

We are glad to explain the costs of dental implants. The procedure requires several steps and a number of different parts that must all be of the highest quality. Each of these factors figures into dental implants cost, along with ensuring that the dentists we bring on our staff maintain the very highest standards in their care. This quality along with the procedure itself are what you are purchasing when you invest in dental implants at StarBrite Dental to complete your smile.

The total cost will depend on how much care your oral health requires before the implant can be placed. Bone grafts to strengthen bone will add to the cost. The dental implant procedure costs break down into the cost of placement of the implant, addition of the abutment and the manufacture and placement of a sparkling white crown to complete the procedure. All together, depending on the complexity of the procedure, these costs can be significant, and generally, they are in the thousands of dollars.

Why Dental Implants Instead of Other Types of Tooth Replacement?

Each type of tooth replacement has its own benefits and requirements. When you consult with our experienced dentists, you can trust them to consider your health, lifestyle and wishes when they make a recommendation. Fortunately, most of our patients who ask for dental implants to replace missing teeth can receive them. The technical skill of each of our dentists means the best possible result for the maximum number of patients.

It is possible that one of our dentists may recommend a bridge, partial denture or complete denture as replacements for your missing teeth. If this is needed in your case, the reason will be carefully explained to you, along with a review of the health or lifestyle reasons that mean this other option would be right for you. Any questions you have will be fully answered so you feel educated and you can make the right choice.

If your StarBrite Dental dentist recommends a dental implant, they will be recommending a treatment with an excellent record of success. Our patients report the highest satisfaction with dental implants to replace missing teeth. This is part of the value you receive from a dental implant.

How Dental Implants Work

The correct first step in providing a patient with dental implants is making sure that the patient’s gum, bone and overall health are right to ensure the best result possible. At StarBrite Dental, there will never be any shortcuts taken when we plan your treatment. Our examinations, dental procedures, materials and techniques will always be first-class.

It is very important when planning the dental implant cost and the steps of your procedure to ensure that the bone in the jaw to receive implants is strong and healthy. A patient who needs bone grafts before dental implant placement will have a higher cost than a person who does not need this procedure. Careful imaging will provide our dentists with the information on bone health that they need.

Once bone and overall health have been verified, the steps of the dental implants procedure will then be:

  1. The gum will be opened, exposing the bone.

  2. A narrow hole will be drilled into the bone.

  3. The metal or ceramic post will be placed in this hole.

  4. The gum will be closed over the implant.

At this point, the bone will be given time to heal. After the implant has integrated (bonded) with the bone which generally requires a few months, the next steps will be taken.

  5. A healing cap will be placed on the implant to prepare the area of gum for the crown.

  6. An abutment, the connecting point between the implant and the crown to be placed, is connected to the implant to take an impression. The healing cap will be placed while you wait for the crown. This requires a small gum surgery to expose the implant again.

  7. The crown will be manufactured to match your natural teeth.

  8. Finally, the healing cap will be removed and the crown will be permanently attached to the abutment.

This is the basic process. The steps can vary in some cases.

The Longevity of Your

Dental Implants

When your dental implant is complete, you will have received a type of tooth replacement that can last the rest of your life, with the right dental and hygiene care. Every time you visit our office after completion of this procedure, we will inspect your smile and ensure that the bone and gum in the area of the implant are doing very well. We will monitor any health conditions you might experience to ensure that nothing will impact the longevity of this replacement.

What we are seeing among our patients is an excellent record of longevity. As well as patient satisfaction with the look and function of dental implants, our patients love that they don’t have to repair and reline dentures, put up with partial dentures or replace dental bridges every ten to fifteen years.

Our insistence on excellent quality of care from start to finish—from evaluation of your oral health to placement of the final crown—means that you have your very best chance of long-term success from a dental implant.
