Meet Dr. Viviana Urban

Dr. Viviana Urban

Dr. Viviana Urban grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1986. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington D.C. in 1990. She worked as an associate dentist for four years after graduation and then purchased her private practice in Gaithersburg, Maryland in 1994 where she worked for the past 27 years until she joined the Starbrite Dental team.  Dr. Urban has been voted by her peers as a Washingtonian Magazine Top Dentist for several years, most recently in 2021.  She has also been voted by her peers as a Top Dentist in Bethesda Magazine in 2020.

Dr. Urban’s care philosophy is to provide expert care with personalized service. Her goal is to treat each patient with state-of-the-art dental care and knowledge in an individual and unrushed manner for them to feel that they are part of the Starbrite dental family. Her focus is to help patients keep their smile for life and improve not only their oral health but their overall health as well. Listening to her patients, educating them on their oral health, and meeting their expectations is her primary concern.

Outside of the dental practice, Dr. Urban has served as a dental consultant for Georgetown University’s Oral health disparities program to help improve the oral health needs of the underserved and minority populations in the District of Columbia. She has helped in the development of a Caregiving App and continues to help in beta testing. Dr. Urban loves to read and has been a member in her book club for the past 20 years.   She enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, traveling, and spending time outdoors.  Her highest priority outside of the office is having shared experiences with her family and creating unforgettable memories.
