In addition, any medical or dental related information submitted through this website — including information you enter in appointment request forms, contact forms, chat, or other messages — will be treated as PHI and governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices. This Privacy Policy covers non-clinical data collected through the Site.

Where PHI submitted through the Site is handled by a service provider on our behalf, we maintain a Business Associate Agreement with that provider as required by HIPAA.

3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate and improve the Site, remember your preferences, and measure advertising.  Non-essential technologies are not deployed until you consent through our cookie consent tool.  For a full breakdown, see our Cookie Policy.

3A. Recording and Monitoring of Chats, Calls, and Site Activity

Live chat. Our Site offers a chat feature operated on our behalf by a third-party service provider. The contents of your conversation are recorded, transmitted to, and stored by that provider in real time, along with your IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you viewed. The provider acts as a party to the communication and as our service provider. We request your consent before the chat feature is activated. If you do not consent, the chat feature will not load and you may contact us by phone or email instead.  Please do not submit health information through the chat feature.

Telephone calls.  Calls to phone numbers displayed on our Site may be routed through call tracking providers or answering services that record the calling number, date, time, and duration, and that may record call audio. Because we obtain the consent of all parties before recording, you will be notified at the beginning of any call that is being recorded. If you do not wish to be recorded, you may tell us so, end the call, or contact us by email instead.

Automated call answering.  Calls received outside office hours may be answered by an automated assistant. You will be told at the start of the call that you are speaking with an automated system and that the call is recorded. You may request a person, end the call, or call back during office hours.

Text messages.  If you provide your mobile number, we may send appointment reminders, confirmations, and other messages about your care. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving dental care.

Messaging apps and social media.  Messages you send us through social media platforms or messaging apps are transmitted through those platforms and stored on their systems, subject to their privacy policies rather than ours.  Please do not send health information through these channels.  To discuss anything clinical, call us at 301.770.1070.

Site activity. We use analytics and advertising technologies that collect information about how you interact with the Site. These do not operate until you consent through our cookie consent tool, except where required for the Site to function.  We do not use advertising technologies on pages where you submit appointment requests, contact forms, or other health-related information.

Your consent.  By consenting through our chat consent prompt or cookie consent tool, or by continuing a telephone call after the recording notice, you consent to the recording, monitoring, storage, and disclosure described in this Section, including under federal and state laws governing the interception and recording of electronic and telephonic communications. You may withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 5.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not sell or share sensitive personal information, including health information, for targeted advertising.

We may share information with:

· Service providers  — website hosting, customer relationship management and marketing automation, analytics, advertising platforms, call tracking and answering services, scheduling and patient communication tools, and email services that process data on our behalf

· HIPAA Business Associates  — service providers that handle PHI on our behalf, including our practice management, patient communication, call handling, and marketing service providers. We maintain Business Associate Agreements governing their use and protection of that information.

· Advertising partners  — we use advertising and analytics technologies from Google and Meta that may allow those companies to receive information about your visit for their own purposes. Under some state laws this may be considered "sharing" of personal information even though we receive no money for it.

· Professional advisors  — attorneys, accountants, and auditors as needed

· Legal obligations  — when required by law, subpoena, or court order

· Business transfers  — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Your Privacy Rights

All visitors may:

·  Opt out of marketing emails via the "Unsubscribe" link in any email

· Opt out of text messages by replying STOP

Minors.  We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Maryland and other state residents. Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to obtain a copy of it or request correction, to request deletion, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information.  Health information is treated as sensitive data under Maryland and other state laws, and we do not sell sensitive data.  To make a request, contact us using the details in Section

9. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Your rights regarding your dental records are described separately in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

6. Data Retention

Clinical records are retained in accordance with applicable Maryland record-retention requirements.

Website form submissions, chat transcripts, and call recordings are not clinical records and are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — generally no more than 24 months — unless a longer period is required by law or a legal hold applies.

7. Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and, where applicable, encryption of data at rest. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to individuals under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13  through the Site.
