A Smile Transformation with Veneers

Recently, one of our patients consulted Dr. Seifi for a cosmetic problem with his teeth which he felt was holding him back in life. We were delighted to help.

Problem
A young male patient asked Dr. Seifi for help with deeply discolored front teeth. He had received lengthy orthodontic treatment to straighten his teeth, but that treatment resulted in discolored areas on his visible teeth. Add that to his own inherited tendency to discolored teeth and the result was a smile he was unhappy with. He avoided smiling whenever possible and felt that his unattractive and yellowed teeth would restrict his career possibilities.

Solution
Bleaching is not an option for the most severely stained teeth because the discoloration existed inside the teeth, not on the surface. Veneers were the perfect answer to the smile makeover he wanted.

The first step of treatment was a thorough examination by Dr. Seifi to ensure that his teeth and gums were all healthy and that no dental problems needed to be treated first. She then studied that young man’s smile and overall appearance so she could develop the exact treatment plan to give him the result he wanted and ensure that his final appearance would be completely natural. The four, upper front teeth were selected for veneers — the ones that were the most discolored and visible.

To ensure the veneers perfectly matched the patient’s other teeth, Dr. Seifi took exact measurements and images so flawless veneers could be custom manufactured. When the veneers were ready, Dr. Seifi tested them on the patient with temporary adhesive to ensure they were a perfect match and fit for his mouth. Once they were both satisfied, she attached the veneers with permanent, dental cement.

These veneers not only improved the appearance of these four teeth, they will also protect them from decay, since those discolored spots would have been more likely to develop cavities in the future.

Results
The patient was extremely happy and excited about his new smile. He even had new photos taken of the result and, of course, every one of those photos shows him with a big, beautiful smile!
