Fortunately, times have changed! Invisalign clear aligners now offer our patients correction of their smiles with a treatment that’s almost invisible.
The process starts with digital imaging of your existing smile. These images are sent to the Invisalign lab so your series of clear aligners can be created. You’ll wear each aligner day and night for a week or two, then change to the next one in the series. Gradually, you’ll see your smile take on a whole new—and beautiful—shape.
Invisalign is versatile enough to correct all these problems of misalignment:
- Overcrowded teeth: That’s when there’s just not enough space for the teeth, causing them to overlap. It’s very hard to keep overcrowded teeth clean.
- Overbite: The upper jaw and teeth protrude too far over your lower teeth, increasing the risk of chipped teeth, uneven tooth wear and other problems.
- Underbite:
Lower teeth extend out beyond your upper teeth, which can cause difficulty swallowing or speaking, and can increase wear on your teeth
- Gap teeth: Many patients find open spaces between several teeth or their two front teeth displeasing. In some parts of the mouth, gaps also trap food and increase the risk of decay.
- Open bite: This is a gap between the upper and lower jaw when one’s mouth is closed which makes it difficult to eat and speak normally and causes premature wear on the teeth.
